Where is Hotel Obereggen located?

Hotel Obereggen is located in Obereggen in the Eggental valley in South Tyrol, at 1,550 m above sea level and with views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Rosengarten-Latemar.

Is Hotel Obereggen a family hotel?

Yes, Hotel Obereggen specialises in family holidays. Families can look forward to childcare, Kids All In, family-friendly rooms and suites, an organic farm, a riding stable and plenty of summer and winter experiences.

What makes a holiday at Hotel Obereggen special?

What makes it special is the combination of family holidays, nature, the organic farm, riding, alpine wellness, Cucina Alpina and the direct location in the Dolomites.

Yes, free broadband Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

Yes, free hotel parking is available.

Can I arrive earlier or leave later?

You are welcome to have breakfast with us on your day of arrival, subject to an additional charge and prior registration. Rooms are generally available from 2.00 pm.

Is there a late check-out, subject to an additional charge?

This is possible depending on availability. However, we can only confirm this at short notice.

Is there a shuttle service from the train station or airport?

We are happy to organise a taxi for your family. Otherwise, there are good bus connections directly from Bolzano train station.

Which room categories are available at Hotel Obereggen?

We have various room categories – from standard double rooms of approx. 20 m² to large family suites with separate children’s bedrooms of 45 m² – so everyone can reserve the room that best suits their wishes.

Are the rooms family-friendly?

Yes, many rooms and suites are designed with families in mind. Depending on the category, they include separate children’s bedrooms, seating areas, tea kitchens, fridges, balconies or terraces and spacious bathrooms.

What is included in the room price?

The daily rate includes half board PLUS, Kids All In, childcare, the wellness area, baby and children’s equipment, Wi-Fi, parking and many other services.

From how many nights do the listed prices apply?

The prices apply for stays of 3 nights or more. For stays of up to 3 nights, a surcharge of 10% applies.

Is there room service?

Yes, the rooms are cleaned daily.

Are there children’s prices?

Yes, there are staggered children’s prices according to age: 0–3 years, 4–7 years, 8–11 years and 12–15 years.

Is a tourist tax charged?

Yes, a local tourist tax is charged for all guests aged 14 and over. This is not included in the accommodation price.

Is there a best price guarantee?

Yes, Hotel Obereggen offers a best price guarantee. Guests receive the best available price directly from the hotel.

Are there minimum stays, for example during holiday periods?

Yes, during peak holiday periods such as New Year’s Eve or carnival week, we have minimum stays of 7 nights.

Are there discounts for children?

Yes, we offer fixed children’s prices up to the age of 15.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), debit cards and cash payments.

Is there a minibar?

Some room categories also have a minibar.

Is there a coffee machine or kettle in the room?

We can provide a kettle in the room on request.

Are there baby monitors at the hotel?

Yes, there are.

Can we book a family room with separate sleeping areas?

Yes, you can.

Yes, our family suites have a tea kitchen.

Are the rooms air-conditioned?

No, we are located at 1,500 metres above sea level, so it is cool enough.

Yes, there are.

What bedding/duvets are available, for example allergy-friendly bedding or down duvets?

All rooms are equipped with allergy-friendly bedding.

Can the rooms be fully darkened?

Yes, with curtains or shutters.

Can prams be stored at the hotel?

Yes, they can.

Cuisine & catering

What does half board PLUS include?

Half board PLUS includes a breakfast buffet with regional products, a cake buffet in the afternoon and a 5-course set menu in the evening with fresh salads from the buffet.

Are there vegetarian dishes?

Yes, there are vegetarian recommendations and options.

Can vegan dishes be offered?

We are happy to prepare vegetarian dishes and have a vegetarian recommendation on the menu every day. We are not specialised in vegan cuisine, but together we can also prepare a vegan menu with side dishes, vegetables, soups prepared with margarine and so on.

Are gluten-free or lactose-free dishes available?

Yes, gluten-free and lactose-free options are available when requested in advance.

What is Kids All In?

Kids All In includes drinks from the juice bar, breakfast, supervised lunch from Monday to Friday as part of the childcare programme, packed lunches for days out, children’s menus and sweet and savoury snacks in the afternoon.

Is there supervised lunch for children?

Yes, from Monday to Friday, children can enjoy supervised lunch in the children’s dining room as part of the childcare programme.

Is there a hotel bar?

Yes, the hotel has a bar serving coffee, wine, drinks and children’s cocktails.

Is there a terrace?

Yes, the hotel has a sunny panoramic terrace with views of the mountains.

Is there childcare at Hotel Obereggen?

Yes, children are looked after in the Kiddy Club 5 days a week.

How many hours of childcare are offered per week?

There are 40 hours of childcare per week.

What do children experience in the Kiddy Club?

Depending on the season, children enjoy a varied programme with the farm, animals, horses, wood workshop, cocktail mixing, climbing, hikes, crafts, games and winter activities.

Is there a separate programme for teens?

Yes, teens can also look forward to their own programme – for example with a chill room, iWall, T-Wall, trampoline, table tennis, table football, wood workshop and other activities.

Is there childcare in winter?

Yes, in winter, children can be collected directly from ski school on request. Afterwards, there is lunch together, tea and biscuits to warm up, as well as a varied children’s programme.

Is the hotel suitable for babies?

Yes, the hotel offers extensive baby and toddler equipment as well as toddler care by arrangement.

Which baby equipment is available?

The equipment includes changing mats, baby monitors, potties, nappy bins, bottle warmers, cots, children’s stools, changing tables, baby baths, potties or toilet seat reducers and kettles.

Is there equipment for children in the restaurant?

Yes, high chairs, bibs and children’s tableware are available in the restaurant.

Are prams or baby carriers available?

Yes, prams, baby carriers and back carriers are available.

Can siblings be looked after together?

Yes.

Yes.

Organic farm & animals

Is there a farm at the hotel?

Yes, the Ortnerhof organic farm is only approx. 100 m from the hotel.

Which animals live on the organic farm?

The farm is home to horses, ponies, donkeys, rabbits, chickens, goats, cats and Highland cattle, among others.

Can children get to know the animals?

Yes, children can experience the animals up close, help with feeding, groom horses, visit the rabbits and discover life on the farm.

Is there a play area on the farm?

Yes, the organic farm offers plenty of space to play and run around, including a trampoline, sand playground, swings, painting studio, wood workshop and nature experiences.

How far is the farm from the hotel?

The organic farm is only about 100 m from the hotel.

Riding & riding stable

Is there a riding stable at Hotel Obereggen?

Yes, the riding stable is located at the nearby Ortnerhof organic farm.

From what age are riding lessons possible?

Riding lessons are available for adults and children from the age of 6.

Are there offers for younger children?

Yes, for children aged 3 to 6, there are playful activities all about horses as well as an educational parent-child riding concept.

Can beginners learn to ride?

Yes, riding lessons are also available for beginners. No previous experience is necessary.

Are there trail rides?

Yes, panoramic trail rides are available for advanced riders.

Is trial riding available?

Yes, trial riding is available for children and adults.

Do children have to wear a riding helmet?

Yes, helmets are compulsory for children up to the age of 14. Riding helmets are provided by the hotel.

Can children help with horse care?

Yes, children can help with stable and horse care, groom horses, braid manes and get to know the animals.

Wellness & relaxation

Is there a wellness area at the hotel?

Yes, Hotel Obereggen has an alpine wellness area with saunas, a relaxation area and a heated outdoor whirlpool.

Which saunas are available?

There is a Finnish sauna, bio sauna, steam bath, shower grotto, ice fountain, Kneipp pool and a “Luis Trenker” infrared cabin.

Is there an adults-only area?

Yes, there is a separate adults-only sauna area with a relax lounge, lawn for sunbathing, steam bath and large outdoor sauna with panoramic views.

Is there an outdoor whirlpool?

Yes, the heated outdoor whirlpool is open all year round and offers warm fresh water with views of the Latemar.

Are massages available?

Yes, various massages are offered in the massage area, including anti-stress massage, classic massage, hot stone massage, back combination massage, foot reflex stimulation and children’s massage.

Are there wellness offers for children?

Yes, children’s wellness and children’s massages accompanied by a parent are also available.

Summer holidays & activities

What can you do around the hotel in summer?

In summer, you can enjoy hiking, climbing, mountain biking, riding, family hikes, excursion destinations, the natural swimming pond, high ropes course and many nature experiences.

Are there hiking trails nearby?

Yes, around Obereggen there are around 200 km of well-maintained hiking trails as well as easy to moderately difficult hikes for families.

Are there pram-friendly hiking trails?

Yes, there are also pram-friendly trails, for example in the Latemarium and in the surrounding area.

Are guided hikes offered?

Yes, various themed hikes and guided hikes are offered several times a week.

Can you go climbing nearby?

Yes, the Dolomites around Rosengarten and Latemar offer numerous via ferratas and climbing routes. Children’s climbing with a mountain guide is also possible.

Are there mountain bike and e-bike offers?

Yes, Obereggen is a popular starting point for mountain bike and e-bike tours. Tour suggestions, bike rental and guided tours are available.

Is there a natural swimming pond?

Yes, there is a crystal-clear natural swimming pond at the organic farm, without chlorine or chemicals.

Which swimming lakes are nearby?

The surrounding area includes the Large and Small Montiggl Lakes as well as Lake Kaltern.

Is there a guest card or benefits for mountain lifts and admissions?

Yes, in South Tyrol there is the Guest Pass, which allows guests to use public transport such as buses and trains free of charge – some mountain lifts are also included. Otherwise, discounted family tickets are available for the mountain lifts.

Winter holidays & skiing

Is the hotel located directly by the slopes?

The hotel is only approx. 150 m from the lifts of the Obereggen/Fiemme ski centre.

How large is the ski area?

The Obereggen/Val di Fiemme ski area offers more than 50 km of slopes and modern lift facilities.

Are there ski lessons for children?

Yes, children can learn to ski or snowboard at the Obereggen ski school. Ski lessons are available for children from the age of 4.

Are children collected from ski lessons?

Yes, on request, children are collected directly from ski school at 12.30 pm and brought to the hotel for lunch together.

Is there ski rental at the hotel?

Yes, there is in-house ski rental directly at the hotel.

Is there a discount on ski rental?

Yes, hotel guests receive a 10% discount on in-house ski rental.

Is there a ski room?

Yes, there is an in-house ski room with ski boot dryer for all rooms, suites and apartments.

What is Brunoland?

Brunoland is a children’s snow adventure park with magic carpets, bouncy castle, children’s carousel, tubing run, snow tunnel and other attractions.

Are there activities without skiing?

Yes, there are plenty of options even without skis: winter hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing, night tobogganing and winter games.

Is night skiing available?

Yes, skiing and snowboarding under floodlights is possible twice a week.

Motorcycling & biking

Is the hotel suitable for motorcyclists?

Yes, Hotel Obereggen is a MoHo 4-helmet motorcycle hotel and offers special facilities and services for bikers.

Which services are available for motorcyclists?

There are covered parking spaces, a motorcycle garage, washing area, drying room, luggage storage, bike info corner, repair tools, tour suggestions and GPS support.

Are there prepared motorcycle tours?

Yes, the hotel offers prepared tour suggestions for the Dolomites, Lake Garda, the Ortler region and other areas.

Is help with GPS data available?

Yes, the hotel helps with uploading GPS data to navigation devices and supports route planning.

Arrival & location

How do you get there by car?

Take the Brenner motorway to Bolzano Nord. From there, continue through the Eggental valley to Obereggen.

How far is Obereggen from Bolzano?

Obereggen is about 20 minutes from Bolzano.

Can you arrive by train?

Yes, the nearest train station is in Bolzano. On request, the hotel is happy to organise a taxi to the hotel.

Which airports are nearby?

Nearby airports include Bolzano, Innsbruck, Verona, Venice and other airports such as Munich, Treviso, Bergamo, Bologna and Milan.

Is arriving by motorcycle recommended?

Yes, the journey itself already leads along beautiful mountain pass roads and offers wonderful views. The hotel recommends the route via Brenner, Penser Joch, Sarnthein and Bolzano, among others.

Pets, deposit & cancellation

Are pets allowed?

Pets are only allowed in the hotel on request. Pets are not permitted on the farm.

Is a deposit required?

Yes, to secure the booking, a deposit of between €200.00 and €800.00 per room is requested. This is deducted from the final price.

Is there travel cancellation insurance?

Yes, the hotel recommends taking out travel cancellation insurance. If such insurance is taken out, no deposit is required to confirm the booking.

Until when can I cancel free of charge?

There are no additional cancellation costs up to 61 days before arrival.

Which cancellation fees apply after that?

For cancellations 31 to 60 days before arrival, 50% of the total amount will be charged. Within 30 days before arrival, 80% will be charged. From 7 days before arrival, 100% of the agreed total price will be charged.

What happens in the event of late arrival or early departure?

In the event of late arrival or early departure, the corresponding days will be charged at 100% of the daily rate.

From what time is the room available on the day of arrival?

The rooms are available from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival.

By what time must the room be vacated on the day of departure?

On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to vacate the room by 10.00 am.
