Get to know our horses with strong personalities.

Chuppa

My name is Chuppa, and I am a Quarter Horse. I love to gallop in open terrain and am a very easygoing companion. You can recognize me by my continuous blaze, and I am a dark brown color. In the herd, I hold a lower rank, and for me, time in the pasture is the most important! I take my time while eating and carefully choose the most beautiful blades of grass in the field.

Brandy

My name is Brandy, and I am the largest in the stable. I was born in England and belong to the Thoroughbred breed. I started my childhood as a racehorse and am now happy to spend a cozy horse life in the herd on the pasture. Unlike what many expect, I am calm and request calm, precise instructions from my rider – please don't forget that I am a large horse and not an agile pony. I am the best friend of Ringo, and we usually share the position of lead stallion or lead gelding.

Ringo

My name is Ringo, and I am a very intelligent and especially curious horse. I prefer to be outdoors with my friends – especially with Brandy, I share a true bromance. I am an Appaloosa/Haflinger/Andalusian mix and am robustly built – a great combination, I must say. My exterior is very Appaloosa: my color is chestnut with a white blanket over the croup, I have white-bordered pupils, white/black striped hooves, and mottled skin around the nostrils.

Rina

My name is Rina, and I am a typical South Tyrolean Haflinger mare with a beautiful long blonde mane – perfect for braiding. I am powerfully built, and my greatest hobbies are eating, eating, eating, and riding out. So, I am usually only on the pasture for a few hours. I'll tell you a secret: I'm quite in love with Ringo... but please don't tell anyone.

Tern

Tern is my name, and at 30 years old, I am the grandpa here in the stable. I am a Russian Trotter and help with riding lessons for the youngest and lightest riders. Most people just call me Bernd, as Tern is so hard to remember. The most important thing for me is our life here in the pasture with the herd; I prefer to spend time with Whiskey – we have known each other for a long time.

Lola

I am the little Lola, a Shetland pony – I prefer working in riding lessons and don't like pony lessons for small children so much. In short, I am a large horse trapped in a pony's body, and even in the herd, I assert this respect. It's a pity that many kids prefer riding a larger horse than me. I am the best friend of the two donkey cousins Freddy and Barney; we always have a lot of fun together.

Freddy & Barney

We are Freddy and Barney, fortunately rescued by Ortnerhof – male donkeys usually don't have great future prospects. We are cousins, and our favorite pastime is frolicking and playing in the pasture. Of course, sometimes we have to bray loudly to let everyone know we're here.
